Easily the single most influential book I ever read。 This book will teach a young adult everything that is there to be known, the author addresses almost every aspect of life which probably confuses every man at some point of his life。 It shows you the way and gives you the conviction in handling situations。 Highly recommended!

Mostly spiritual nonsense with some valuable takes。

Terrific — very lucid throughout, including in the parts where King Warrior Magician Lover became somewhat convoluted。 Highly recommended to all men everywhere but especially hotheads and late bloomers。

Concentrated theorems of some valuable insight and practices!

Main takeaways: - Deida's perspective on feminine and masculine energies- Alludes to Esther Perel's teachings around how comfort over time with someone takes away from the intrigue - Masculine energies require clear honing of purpose。 No one can save anyone from the swirl introduced by unclear purpose。 Main takeaways: - Deida's perspective on feminine and masculine energies- Alludes to Esther Perel's teachings around how comfort over time with someone takes away from the intrigue - Masculine energies require clear honing of purpose。 No one can save anyone from the swirl introduced by unclear purpose。 。。。more

My main takeaways from this book had to do with sexual technique and embodiment, and for that I applaud David Deida。 I have experimented with the way I ravish a woman, and David's advice has made the experience deeper for the both of us。Unfortunately, Deida is stuck in a prescriptive and activist mindspace, where he constantly tells the reader how 'a man' should live, and how to symbiose with the feminine。This perspective is reductive at best, as a variety of energies flow withinin and through u My main takeaways from this book had to do with sexual technique and embodiment, and for that I applaud David Deida。 I have experimented with the way I ravish a woman, and David's advice has made the experience deeper for the both of us。Unfortunately, Deida is stuck in a prescriptive and activist mindspace, where he constantly tells the reader how 'a man' should live, and how to symbiose with the feminine。This perspective is reductive at best, as a variety of energies flow withinin and through us。 At worst, readers will take David's advice as gospel while forgetting about their own deepest desires, needs and drives。 The naive reader is at risk to replace his own broken sense of self with Deida's projection of a masculine man。 Instead, by feeling into ourselves, we could see what is actually happening within us and where our desires lie。 Occasionally David's advice can speak to the heart and move me to take action in my life。 Occasionally his advice hits deeper than a phallic 'go get' em, boy'。 But only occasionally。 。。。more

Finished chunking this book in a day。 My only regret is why I didn’t find this book earlier。 Rather than seeing this book in the perspective of biblizing masculinity or femininity。 I look this book as recommending that I should stick to my true purpose, never give it in just to please people。 Do not let people and force of the world sways you easily and stay true to yourself。 Live with integrity, authenticity, and freedom to pursue your way without being hold back。 I realized there is a lot of c Finished chunking this book in a day。 My only regret is why I didn’t find this book earlier。 Rather than seeing this book in the perspective of biblizing masculinity or femininity。 I look this book as recommending that I should stick to my true purpose, never give it in just to please people。 Do not let people and force of the world sways you easily and stay true to yourself。 Live with integrity, authenticity, and freedom to pursue your way without being hold back。 I realized there is a lot of clear given examples Deida given in the book that I totally felt and saw it happens in my life and friends stories。This books helps me to see that people are always replaceable, including you and me。 We are just tiny specks that collide in each other life, find yourself and stay true to your decision。Another one is I have this annotation that listening to the wisdom of other people who has done it will be better, the blindspot is that I might get different result from doing the same thing。 Sometimes it is better to follow your instinct and fails and learn from it rather than not trying and thinking it is wise decision。 。。。more

It gets a bit repetitive near the back half but an interesting exploration into men’s relationships to women。

Just an incredible amount of good advice in this book。 Some of this is dated, some should be taken with a grain of salt。 This book is written to cater to men in a heterosexual relationship, and I’m sure it’s more true for my committed heterosexual relationship than for other relationships。 What makes this book stand is the way it observes that gender and sexuality are not tied to birth gender, a fact which was likely much harder to accept for its original audience over a decade ago than it is to Just an incredible amount of good advice in this book。 Some of this is dated, some should be taken with a grain of salt。 This book is written to cater to men in a heterosexual relationship, and I’m sure it’s more true for my committed heterosexual relationship than for other relationships。 What makes this book stand is the way it observes that gender and sexuality are not tied to birth gender, a fact which was likely much harder to accept for its original audience over a decade ago than it is today。 “Masculine energy” and “feminine energy” are described as being inherent in all people, regardless of gender or sexuality。 Having this dichotomy laid out and dissected gave me some tremendous insight into myself and my relationship。 It’s helped me understand my partner much more。 She’s a pansexual, cisgender woman with a LOT of feminine energy。 I’m a pansexual, cisgender man with a LOT of masculine energy。 As Deida explains, most relationships work this way, with one person being more (but not always) masculine and another being more feminine。 People are complicated and this book isn’t perfect。 My partner and I read this together and loved it。 In any book involving gender, those who are easily offended will always find something to take issue with。 Deida is clearly a progressive dude, but if you’re looking to find reasons to be outraged, you’ll find one here (“How dare he imply that slogans like ‘men are pigs’ are harmful to little boys’ self-esteem?!”)。 But seriously。 This is a good book。 And it’s a short read。 If you’re here checking it out, you’ll likely take away a few gems that’ll change your life for the better。 。。。more

I love the down to earth and honest tonality。 It sure helps to get grounded into the masculine force within and get a flowery yet concise meta-description to work on yourself and how you occur to the world as a man。 The tips to achieve full-body orgasms are surprisingly easy to implement。 I'm happy to have stumbled upon an author who combines spirituality, purpose, practicality and sexuality into on cohesive work。 I love the down to earth and honest tonality。 It sure helps to get grounded into the masculine force within and get a flowery yet concise meta-description to work on yourself and how you occur to the world as a man。 The tips to achieve full-body orgasms are surprisingly easy to implement。 I'm happy to have stumbled upon an author who combines spirituality, purpose, practicality and sexuality into on cohesive work。 。。。more

Ok, this is a must read for every man。 I have a paper full of notes from it, there was so much to learn。 The only thing I regret is not finding this book when I was in relationship。 Learning new things and applying them real-time would made the learning much easier。 But I shall re-read it once I am in relationship。Until then, I will have words of praise for it, only。

I wish I had this sooner but nonetheless a phenomenal book, highly recommend to everyone who is looking for growth in their lives in all areas。

The Way of the Superior Man contains some generally good advice, but between its poor writing, its essentialist perspective, and some problematic conclusions, I don't recommend it。 For context, the books core claims are roughly: - there exists a binary of masculine and feminine energies- all people have a ratio of both energies, though they tend to be dominant in one or the other - 80% of males are dominant in the masculine energy and vice versa- both energies have their own unique nature and de The Way of the Superior Man contains some generally good advice, but between its poor writing, its essentialist perspective, and some problematic conclusions, I don't recommend it。 For context, the books core claims are roughly: - there exists a binary of masculine and feminine energies- all people have a ratio of both energies, though they tend to be dominant in one or the other - 80% of males are dominant in the masculine energy and vice versa- both energies have their own unique nature and desire - the book is intended to advise the masculine-dominantAll of the instruction in this book is arrived at through this simple model, making it easy to remember and grossly applicable。 I enjoyed actually enjoyed the first section, which had some good general advice for men in modern western culture。Of course, the cultural influences on the observations Deida makes aren't factored in, which, usually, I'd be fine with。 Relationship advice doesn't need to address those questions in order to produce a useful working model for relationship management。 The problem is, this masculine/feminine binary isn't presented as a model。 Rather, it's presented as a spiritual reality, a quasi-religious essentialism the author genuinely subscribes to。 Thus a potentially useful relationship model becomes a reductionist worldview, leading to some pretty bad takes as the book moves into relationships。 For example, chapter 36 reads: "The dark feminine desire, to be forced to surrender, is as strong as the dark masculine desire to penetrate through a woman's resistance。 The difference between rape and ravishment is love"。No, Mr。 Deida, the difference is consent。 But this take is roughly justified by painting the feminine as a dynamic, chaotic force changing moment by moment, desiring only to be penetrated by the immovable masculine。 As 80% of women are predominately feminine, this chaos is expressed in them by being temperamental in their moods and inconsistent in their desires。 It is the masculine's job to remain unaffected by this and to "penetrate" her core。 Not only does this infantilize women, it excuses some pretty messed up behaviour towards men。 One example from chapter 38 reads:"If she is screaming and breaking dishes, your body must meet her energy。。。 hold her in your arms, and laugh affectionately in the humour of the moment, she will feel your freedom, if it is for real。" So fellas, if your partner is acting in a physically dangerous manner while screaming at you, it's your job to laugh and embrace her。 If you find that difficult, or it fails to de-escalate the situation, you have some work to do on your masculine energy。 The topic of healthy boundaries is completely ignored, and any violation of them on part of a woman is simply her feminine testing your mastery over the masculine。 The result is that men are responsible for enduring and even resolving their partners' unhealthy behaviours, as they are merely the result of her expressing her feminine essence, which begins to feel more and more like some new age version of of hysteria the more I consider it。 In considering the popularity of this book, I realized just how clever its framework is。 There are enough generally useful communication tips in this book that some things are going to resonate。 Beyond that, any difficulty you have in relating to the book is explained away as having more to do with your relationship to your own energy than the ideas, and any failure in applying the advice isn't a fault of the advice itself, but either a lack of connection to your own masculine energy, an uneven distribution of the energies between you and your partner, or your partner being disconnected from her femininity。In short, like a good fortune teller, Deida unites some basic truths and generic observations with questionable claims under an unfalsifiable framework to make bank。 。。。more

The depth of this book is captivating to say the least。 I was fascinated and inspired by his point of view。 There was so many parts that hit home with me as light bulb moments I wish I could explain them all。 I feel as though you must be ready to talk a honest look at yourself in order to get the most out of this book。

Great stuff。 Explains masculinity and femininity in the most profound, unbiased and inclusive way possible and creates a bridge of understanding between people with a masculine core and people with a feminine core。 The book explains gracefully how a clear purpose for people with a masculine core is incredibly necessary and charms the feminine。 It speaks spiritually of the way relationships work to the benefit of both people so both people are maximally free in their own essence and temperature。 Great stuff。 Explains masculinity and femininity in the most profound, unbiased and inclusive way possible and creates a bridge of understanding between people with a masculine core and people with a feminine core。 The book explains gracefully how a clear purpose for people with a masculine core is incredibly necessary and charms the feminine。 It speaks spiritually of the way relationships work to the benefit of both people so both people are maximally free in their own essence and temperature。 It explains that some people have different tastes in who they want to be in relationships with and that men and women have to choose people that choose for them, but explains the why in a short and direct way that hits home。 The masculine directs and stays rational, the feminine gives abundantly and stays full of positive energy。The main takeaway for the book would be that you need to keep the polarity in relationships to not make the flame fizzle out as sadly seems to happen with the relationships of older people and the book gives ways to not only make the flame not go away, but evolve into a bonfire of passion and love。 。。。more

Thought provoking - have to be patient with the book and look beyond the superficial meaning and stereotypes to understand the real meaning。 It may not be a book that I would have understood or enjoyed in my 20s but with life experiences and learning from the school of hard knocks; the lessons and messages in the book makes a lot of sense。
